
Plasencia Cigars confirmed that a fire occurred at one of its farms in Estelí. According to the company’s official statement, the fire has been fully contained and no injuries were reported.
The incident took place at a Plasencia-owned farm in Estelí, Nicaragua. The company stated that emergency response protocols were immediately activated, working in coordination with local authorities and the Estelí Fire Department.
Plasencia Cigars is a premium cigar manufacturer and tobacco grower with agricultural operations in Nicaragua and other countries in the region. Estelí is a central hub for tobacco cultivation and premium cigar production in Nicaragua.
In its statement, the company noted that operations are continuing without interruption following the incident.
Néstor Andrés Plasencia, a fifth-generation member of the Plasencia family, stated that the fire was contained quickly and that all personnel are safe. The company also expressed appreciation to local first responders for their rapid response.
The company confirmed there were no injuries and that production activities remain ongoing. Given Estelí’s strategic role in Nicaragua’s premium cigar sector, operational incidents in the region are closely watched by the industry.
Plasencia Cigars indicated that the situation is under control and that operations continue as normal. No additional operational changes were announced.
